Ambulatory Gambit

The Original Invite from 2002:

Ambulatory Gambit is a collaborative game and artwork designed by Lee Walton and company to guide an exploratory journey through the neighborhood surrounding Sunnyside Conservatory.  Using a friendly game of pick-up chess to initiate a series of local forays and activities, Ambulatory Gambit will allow us to look at our neighborhood and urban world anew.  Join in and find yourself with others performing the city in miniature—a network of individuals orchestrating the intricate patterns and rhythms of urban life.

Sunday, April 21, 2002, 1-3 p.mLee Walton is a conceptual artist whose projects are full of humor, detailed planning, and interaction with the outside world.  Co-Sponsored by San Francisco Bureau of Urban Secrets and POND: a place for art activism and ideas.  The Friends thank Bird and Beckett Books & Records, SFRPD, NPC, and the Friends of Recreation and Parks for their support of this project.
