The Aurora Mandolin Orchestra, originally founded by Bay Area legend Gino Pellegrini in the 1920s, continues under the musical directorship of his wife Jo Pellegrini. The Orchestra of mandolin, mandola, mandocello, guitar string bass, accordion, flute, and percussion has a varied repertoire–featuring music from Russia, Italy, and Spain, and from classical, show tune, opera, and contemporary styles.
