The Sakura Cello Quintet

 

Sakura Cello Quintet performed with an electric atmosphere on Friday, April 20th, 2018, 7 pm.

On 6/23/17: SAKURA was  awarded a New Music USA grant to commission  a cello quintet for the 18/19 Season. Called “Brilliant…superb” by Mark Swed of the LA Times.

SAKURA is built on the artistry and virtuosity of its members: Michael Kaufman, Benjamin Lash, Gabriel Martins, Yoshika Masuda, and Peter Myers. From a repertoire that spans eight centuries, programs are constructed with a commitment to opening new vistas of beauty and expression by the scope of five cellos.

There will be an intermission with light refreshments.
